Learn to Master Light Painting w/ Raphael Freitas – Photography Workshop Berlin
Here we go!
We are super excited to announce a light painting workshop with Raphael Freitas.
Hi Beazy people, Raphael here 🙂
For those who have never seen me at the Beazy events, I will tell a bit about myself.
In 2016 when I was starting into Photography I had 2 friends who were doing Lightpainting back in Brazil. I found it so fascinating and wanted to try it here in Berlin as well. So I started. From that day on I have been trying to keep it up and learn as much as I can about it. I have met some really good Lightpainters here in Germany and went even to a Lighpainting festival.
If you want to check some photos of my Lightpainting project you can go to www.instagram.com/brlnlightpainting
Since we are at Meetup, I guess it is worth mentioning that I also organize the BRLN Lightpainting Meetup Group. So if you can’t make it to this event (or future ones) you can also join the LP Meetup group here: https://www.meetup.com/BRLN-Lightpainting/
Last note about this event, all the money we get from this will be used to build more Lightpainting tools for future events. We will also make them available to rent at Beazy 🙂
Lightpainting is a special form of long exposure photography where you use light sources to create forms, images, or whatever you like. Basically is painting with light in a black canvas.
We welcome all skill levels. Beginner photographers, pros, hobbyists, enthusiasts, whatever. All you need is to know how to use a camera in Manual/Bulb Mode, a tripod, and a remote trigger (some cameras have wifi controller). One of the best parts about lightpainting photography is networking and working in groups. So let’s light up this world.
This is gonna be a Workshop of Lightpainting basics. I will explain the idea behind it and some techniques you will need to manipulate how the light comes out in your pic, such as choosing your aperture and ISO, how to focus, and so on.
On that note, if you are interested in learning more about Lightpainting you can come along even if you don’t own your camera. The knowledge will still be there and you can check the results on my camera or any other members camera.
For those who do own your equipment, I would suggest bringing the following items:
– A camera with Manual/Bulb Mode
– A tripod (this is a must as well, unfortunately)
– A remote shutter release/remote control (So we can do BULB mode over 30′)
– Some source of light (Even cellphones flashlights should work)
– Lots of Artsy Ideas
– Good Mood
If you don’t have all of the items listed above don’t worry. Beazy got you covered. You can find all kinds of equipment there to rent 🙂 The most important items are the three last ones anyway. As mentioned, you can come along even if you own your camera.
Since this event has limited capacity we need to make sure that no one fills a spot without coming. We want everyone to be have a chance of coming, that’s why we had to put a price on the event.
In case you can’t attend the event we will fully reimburse you if you let us know 48 hours in advance, this way we can clear the spot for someone else.
DON’T FORGET TO TAG #BEAZYMEET AND THE PHOTOGRAPHER/MODEL WHEN POSTING ON INSTAGRAM!
